Skiff Research is born out of a combination of passions for fly fishing and engineering. Hunter, the founder, is an aerospace engineer who fishes his nature coast home. As a kid, he picked up his old man’s fiberglass fly rod and practiced casting in the driveway until he literally passed out. Today, he hasn’t put down the fly rod or the engineering. Being able to photograph for a homegrown but highly technical company is always exciting and requires a combination of understanding the products’ purpose as well as the interests of its users.
